Why Field Roses are amazing for Weddings and Events.

To be honest i haven't always been a Rose fan. But then i was introduced to the amazing local field roses. Best way for me to describe them is the most delectable lush explosion rolled in sunshine.
When i first entered the world of flowers i was super lucky to have the best, most loveliest family take me in to show me the ropes... they have been in the flower world for over 20 years and also (from working extremely hard) have a successful Rose Farm in Sydney.
So whats so damn good about Field Roses??
Field Roses look like the old School Roses, the ones from your grandmas garden. They are sweetly scented (yep they actually have a scent!), look rough around the edges and have mega thorns! Field Roses actually open and last for at least 10 days as a cut flower. They have a vintage, shabby chic feel to them which makes them perfect for the Rustic Wedding. They also look amazing for table arrangements for different events. Also the colours...oh wow the colours. Gorgeous Creams...Burnt orange tones....different shades of purple...every colour is devine.
At Miss Poppies we only sell Field Roses....the hot house roses, or Imported roses (which is just not my thing...ill explain over another cup of tea) just dont cut it. They dont last nearly as long in your vase. There is no guarantee the flowers will open and rarely have a scent.Simply  they lack personality and if i dare say, give Roses a bad name.
How to look after Field Roses and get the most time with them? Change the water daily (sounds like a task but trust me it helps them) and every two days give them a trim using a 90 degree angle. No need for additives such as sugar.
So if you are in planning mode for your lovely Wedding or thinking about sending someone some loveliness..think Field Roses. Their season has just begun : )
